John Wooden: Coaching for people, not points

What have I gotten myself into

This is one of the books that is inspiring me at the moment.  There isn't enough life to fit all the methods I want to learn, I think God needs to grant me a life extension.  How about you?
This is my current take along project, a stitch sampler where I experiment with different combinaitons of embroidery  At top right I started a grape arbor in blackwork, but went off track and have had to rip most of it out.  I hope you can enlarge it to look at the details.  I also have one in sage green that I am working on to experiment with emboridery  and beading combinations.  Also trying sild ribbon embroidery on organza ribbon.  I work slow compared to most of the women I admire who are doing this.

This is one I've completed that has a matching partner on red aida cloth.  I need to find boxes that will fit them, like a large square jewelry box with  glass on top for whatever you want to put in it from a photo to a piece of stitching.

I love poppies.  This is a book mark I'm working on , and is on the smallest thread aida I could find.  I have messed with it so much it is permanantly wrinkled and a tad stained, but I love it like a favorite doll.

On Magazines

I'm so sick of my addiction.  I am addicted to being inspired.  I have a car full of magazines on drawing, painting, sewing, quilting, mixed media art, embroidery.  It is all eye candy.  For all the magazines I have bought, I could have had new carpet twice, new furniture, lessons on all these topics, and pieces to show for it.

With an acidic gut, I hauled them all out, and now there is room to create!  I think all of these years I've substituted being inspired for getting anything done.

I also do it in my Christian walk.  I have so many devotional books  and books on prayer that I have no time to pray or practice.  I read them to set my mind at ease instead of taking the actions that would give me a serene mind.

No more magazines.  No more devotional books

More action.

More prayer.

More real conversations,

More doing .

Less inspiration.  .

Yobs Table Work

Most of my friends know I can't pay attention unless my hands are occupied and my foot is swinging.  I move from one project to the next -:afghans, crocheted hats, crochet thread doilies and bookmarks, stitch samples that I do with the Take A Stitch Tuesday group and Sharon B's Band Sampler.  I am hoping to start putting photos of ongoing projects on here, to share with all my friends, whichever blog we are on.
